My themes are drawn from Nature; especially, the bodies and motions of animals.  I continue to be fascinated by the interaction of form and function in living things.  To portray an organism, I must see clearly how it is formed, and to do this, I must understand its underlying structure.  I believe that there is no necessary conflict between art and science; the more we can understand, the more we can enjoy and admire.
